PIMS was established with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of media. It is affiliated to Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, also known as Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Avam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya or in short Makhanlal University, which is is a public university in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Today Digital media connects people in an unprecedented way, enabling users to read and see the news as it happens. The role of traditional media has changed dramatically in the age of the internet-driven, 24-hour news cycle and the proliferation of social media. We equip our students to be a part of global digital world especially in the field of journalism. Students also get an opportunity to intern our group's Hindi newspaper People's Samachar.

Our college was established in the year 2007. The building of our college is equipped with all amenities in the People's Campus. The college has excellent Library, specious Class rooms, Studio, Language Lab & very well maintained Computer Lab. The campus also has a fine executive hostel residential accommodation for academic and administrative staff. The People's Group has an in-house Health Care Centre exclusive to the staff & students of the various institutes of the group. It has a 1000-bedded hospital with a team of specialist doctors. The hospital provides preventive, promotive as well as curative health care services with a view to ensure Positive Health in all members of the People's Family.
